On May 25th, Fundy Shooting Sports hosted their annual “Scout Appreciation Day” with 36 Scouts, 11 Leaders, assorted parents and around 15 club members in attendance.
The Scouts were given a Firearms Safety Presentation on the two types of firearm actions (20 gauge pump shotgun and bolt action .22LR rifle) they would be using. We divided them into two groups and one went to the 25/50 Yard Rifle Range to shoot paper targets, charcoal BBQ briquettes, resettable steel targets and balloons. The other half, went to the 100 Yard Range and were given the opportunity to shoot at 5 thrown aerial targets with a 20 gauge shotgun. A BBQ lunch was served up with Hotdogs and Hamburgers. Each Scout received a Fundy Shooting Sports camo hat, a participation medal, ball compass, carabineer, light sticks, swag from the New Brunswick Wildlife Trust Fund which included, pencil, ruler, whistles, decals, postcard information as well a NBWTF newsletter. ~ David Greene Treasurer, Fundy Shooting Sports Inc.

I wanted to update you on the success of National Range Day, held on June 1 2024 at Fundy Shooting Sports.
We had 113 participants registered, unfortunately we had a number of no shows. Having said that we also had some walk ins as well. The total number of participants was 85. This number was higher that last year. Last year we were plagued with weather delays. We had 28 volunteers in total 4 of which were non-members. All in all it was a great day, everyone enjoyed themselves participants and volunteers alike. Many people inquired about how they can get their PAL, that is very encouraging. We were extremely pleased with the amount of women that participated which is also extremely encouraging. We look forward to doing it again in 2025. John Kelly V.P. Fundy Shooting Sports Inc. Fundy Shooting Sports had its 10th annual Youth Shoot on August 12th 2023. We had 20 youth, ages 10 to 17, in attendance. All rifles were .22LR and we provided an assortment of targets (paper, steel plates, BBQ briquettes and balloons) for their shooting enjoyment. The club put on a BBQ of hamburgers and hotdogs for all to enjoy and each participant received a club hat and medal as a remembrance of the event. All youth received a prize and one girl was the lucky winner of a Ruger 10/22 rifle provided by the club.
