New Brunswick Rifle Association Officials Development Program
The goal
of formal trained range safety officers is to create target shooting
environments with zero possibility of accidents due to unsafe firearm
or ammunition handling on the shooting range.
Instructors
The RNBRA
Officials Development Program is taught by RNBRA officials. All current
RNBRA Officials Development Program instructors have attained experience
and certification to at least the provincial level, with some instructors
certified Nationally and some Internationally.
Working
towards the zero accident goal the RNBRA Officials Development Program
includes the following courses:
Club
Range Safety Officer Course
•
Objective – the purpose of the Club Range Safety Officer course
is to provide formal instruction and certification to local pistol /
rifle shooting club members and individuals in the safe operation of
club target shooting activities. The course focus is on the safe handling,
movement and operation of pistols, rifles and their ammunition during
club shooting activities.
• Eligibility – this course is available to members of RNBRA
affiliated clubs and individual RNBRA members.
• Certification is valid with current individual RNBRA membership.
• Minimum class size for this course is 10 participants.
• Cost per participant is $60.00, with pre course registration.
• Registration – Clubs / individuals register by contacting
the RNBRA Secretary Treasurer.
• Course length – the length of this course is one day.
• Course location – the course location is determined considering
the location of the majority of course participants.
• Course schedule – courses are scheduled when the minimum
number of participants have registered with the RNBRA Secretary Treasurer.
• Insufficient participants – a club may choose to cover
the full cost of 10 participants and have a course conducted for their
club, if there are insufficient participants registered and the club
prefers not to wait until the minimum registration number is reached.
Range
Safety Officer Course - Full Bore Rifle

Objective – the purpose of this course is to provide formal instruction
and certification to shooting club members and individuals in the safe
operation of Full Bore Rifle target shooting activities. This course
also teaches the specific administrative procedures for accessing and
conducting shooting activities on Department of National Defense facilities.

Eligibility – this course is available to members of RNBRA affiliated
clubs and individual RNBRA members.
• Certification is valid with current individual RNBRA membership.
• Minimum class size for this course is 10 participants.
• Cost per participant is $60.00, with pre course registration.
• Registration – Clubs / individuals register by contacting
the RNBRA Secretary Treasurer.
• Course length – the length of this course is one day.
